Compassion through Movement (day retreat)

This retreat is meant to be a dedicated, safe container to really slow down and linger with the experience of savoring our body and the senses. 

Participants will be invited to focus on present moment body awareness; to increase awareness of touch, sight, sound, taste, and smell and allow themselves to be nourished by the gratification of their senses.

 

The retreat includes various dance/movement practices, self-compassionate touch, affectionate breathing, and other meditation and journaling practices.


Participants will be given instructions ahead of time for setting up space in their home for the retreat.

Participants will also receive a downloadable workbook with the journaling/reflection prompts, printable art quotes, and other notes/practices from the retreat.

Most of us would agree that we would never speak to another person the way we speak to ourselves.

So let's learn ways to break the cycle of harsh inner self-judgement and criticism. 

Self-compassion, simply put, is being a kind and supportive friend to ourslves.

Studies on self-compassion have shown time and again that this practice makes us more resilient,

improves relationships, and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression.

During this retreat participants will learn and practice self-compassionate mindfulness meditation exercises.

There will also be lecture from the teacher and journaling prompts.
